Awesome Post to Lower Phone & Cable Bills
I really love this post by Erica Douglass, which gives step-by-step instructions on how to negotiate a lower phone or cable bill.
I may cancel my internet service in April, pending research into the new, free service offered by my apartment building. But, before I do, I'll see if I can get a free upgrade using Erica's tricks. Currently, I let my next door neighbor share my connection for free, since I found it doesn't impact the quality, and I don't want to cut her off. She's moving out at the end of March.
Another point to consider: the building's internet functions as my back-up. If I cancel my service, I'll only have access to one wireless network. If the building's wireless fails, I'd be without a connection, and that would be VERY inconvenient. Hm....
