How I Saved Forty Percent at Macy's

I don't hunt out coupons, but I was really glad I did the work last week.

I was headed to Macy's to purchase a birthday gift for a friend.  I researched the gift online first, and really liked a man's jewlery box (yes, they make such a thing) that was $49 with tax.  Luckily, just as I was about to leave, I remembered to google "Macy's" and "coupon", and found a printable 10% off coupon for that weekend.

When I went to the store, I found a comparable but larger item, regularly $44 with tax.  It was on sale for 30% off.  I used my 10% coupon, and got the whole thing for $26 and change.  I'm totally ecstatic, because I expected to spend $45, and got something BETTER for $26!

It ended up being cheaper AND faster to look around online, than it would have been if I'd just wandered around Macy's.

Side note:  I knew he needed the box when I saw numerous cuff links, a couple watches, his wallet, and a money clip in his sock drawer... and in total disarray.  I told him it was an "organizer", and, p.s., he loved it.
